after 7 months of programming I find out today that a user cannot set their own domains! Wow this seems crazy to me. Here is what the Base44 Help AI said: The honest answer: Users cannot be added to Base44's domain routing system without someone with Dashboard access doing it. Base44 doesn't currently expose an API or automated way for end-users to register their own domains at the infrastructure level.
So for your multi-tenant use case (users bringing their own domains), the workflow would realistically be:
Option 1 - Manual (what you're doing now)
User sets up their DNS (CNAME →
base44.onrender.com, grey cloud)
You manually add their domain in Base44 Dashboard
Not scalable for many users, but works
Option 2 - You handle it for them
User submits their domain through your app's admin feature
You get notified and add it in Base44 Dashboard manually
The limitation is that there's no self-service way for users to complete the Base44 infrastructure side on their own.
This sounds like it could be a feature request worth submitting — a domain registration API that apps could call programmatically. How is this possible that it has not been addressed. Its not scalable to manually add everyones Domains. I’d like to know if there is a workaround. I thought I had it by setting up a self setting Domain feature in my Administration area but today I get a 100 error from Cloudflare. Please tell me this is being addressed!
