In case anyone with any sort of operational influence ever reads this: My specific app only has users who need the emails and only sends emails related to billing and scheduling. Every email contains the ‘unsubscribe’ link (they haven’t subscribed to anything as there’s no marketing as part of the app, so that’s already confusing for them). I have to contact support to remove them from the unsubscribe list, but this requires a user noticing they’re not getting emails and getting in touch with admin. The more likely scenarios is that they just don’t notice and don’t get any bills or reminders or rescheduling information. It just makes my service seem really unprofessional. An easy fix would be a check when they click the link: “Are you sure you with to no longer receive any emails from ‘name of app’ - you cannot undo this action.
That would fix any accidental unsubscribes and save me time and money each month dealing with this. I can’t believe this isn’t already implemented. Please do better.
