Dear Base44 Team,
I am reporting a critical bug that significantly impacts user functionality within the platform.
Problem Description: When attempting to use email addresses that contain dots (e.g., this.is.example@gmail.com), the Base44 system flags them with a Potentially malicious pattern detected: this\. error.
Impact:
User Authentication: Users with email addresses containing dots are unable to log in or register on the Base44 platform itself. This is a severe blocker for many potential users.
Integration Calls: Any integration that involves email addresses with dots (e.g., SendEmail integration used in my app) fails with the same "Potentially malicious pattern detected" error.
Example: Using this.is.example@gmail.com as a to address in the SendEmail integration causes the described error and prevents the email from being sent.
Suspected Root Cause: It appears that your security filtering mechanism, particularly for pattern this\., misinterprets the dots within legitimate email addresses as a malicious attempt (perhaps similar to JavaScript this.property access).
Urgency: This issue makes the platform unusable for a significant portion of the user base and severely limits application functionality. I urge you to investigate and fix this with high priority.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
Sincerely, Zi!
