Display name out side of protected user data

Currently if you try and build anything where people can communicate at a user level people are not able to see a name next to the person that posted. It would be great if there was a field for “Display Name” that was not bound by the current security safe measures. This would allow something like a communication tool that had both admin level users and user level users to have a name that could be seen when they posted.
