ABSTRACT

During an active development session on the DEV Technologies application, a critical data loss event occurred due to an accidental click on a "Revert" button attached to a specific prompt in the Base44 chat history.

The prompt in question was the foundational instruction that directed the Base44 AI to build our Hyper Velocity Prototyping (HVP) landing page. This prompt contained highly specific, complex instructions, including the layout of the page, the written content, the five-tier pricing structure, and the hardcoded Stripe checkout links and secret keys.

When the "Revert" button on that specific prompt was accidentally clicked, the platform immediately rolled the application's codebase back to the state it was in before that prompt was executed. Crucially, the revert action also deleted the prompt itself from the chat. We’ve outlined a step-by-step solution to aid other users in their development journey, that we hope the Base44 team, specifically, the decision makers and developers will take seariously.
