Hi everyone,
I’m currently preparing my Base44 app for App Store review and have run into an issue that only appears on iPad builds.
In TestFlight on iPad, there is a white rounded pill/button at the top centre of the screen that says “Main”. It appears across the app and sits over the UI. It does not appear in:
the web version
the iPhone TestFlight version
the local/mobile preview
It only appears on iPad.
Apple rejected the app under Guideline 4 because parts of the UI were crowded or difficult to use on iPad, and I’m concerned this native-looking “Main” pill is part of the issue.
I contacted Base44 support and the AI support agent suggested it may be coming from the native iOS/iPadOS wrapper rather than my app code, possibly related to the default scene/window configuration in the generated iPad wrapper, such as UISceneConfigurations or a default scene name of “Main”.
Has anyone else using Base44 seen this in an exported iOS app/IPA, specifically on iPad or TestFlight?
A few questions:
Has anyone managed to remove or hide the “Main” pill?
Is this definitely a Base44 wrapper issue rather than something in the app code?
Did Apple reject anyone else for this?
Is there a workaround while waiting for Base44 support?
For context, my app is designed primarily as a mobile-first iPhone app, but Apple reviewed it on iPad as well. The app itself has responsive containment for iPad, but this “Main” pill appears outside the web app UI and looks native to the wrapper.
Any advice or shared experience would be really appreciated. Thanks!
