I’d like to suggest a change to the credit system that I believe would significantly improve customer satisfaction and long-term retention: allowing unused credits to roll over rather than expire each billing period.
When customers purchase credits, they view them as value they’ve already paid for. Losing unused credits at the end of a cycle can create the feeling that part of that value has been taken away, even if the user intends to continue using the platform long-term.
Allowing credits to roll over would solve this while strengthening trust between Base44 and its users.
First, it aligns the product with a fair value exchange. If someone pays for credits, they should feel confident those credits remain available when they need them. This removes pressure to “use them or lose them,” which often leads to rushed or inefficient usage rather than thoughtful engagement with the platform.
Second, rollover credits encourage customers to stay subscribed longer. When users accumulate credits, they have a clear reason to continue their subscription and eventually use them on larger projects. Instead of canceling during slower months, they remain active because their balance still holds value.
Third, rollover systems are widely used by successful SaaS platforms because they reduce churn. Customers feel respected and treated fairly, which builds loyalty and long-term revenue rather than short-term usage spikes.
Finally, rollover credits create the opportunity for users to take on bigger, more ambitious builds within Base44. When credits accumulate, customers are more likely to start larger projects that require significant credit usage — which ultimately benefits the platform.
A possible compromise could be a limited rollover policy (for example, allowing credits to carry forward for 3–6 months or up to a maximum balance). This protects Base44’s economics while still giving customers the confidence that their purchase retains its value.
I believe a rollover credit system would strengthen trust, improve retention, and make Base44 even more attractive to serious builders and long-term users.
Thank you for considering the idea.
