I have been instructed by support and AI development since I started with Base44 to switch databases when developing, and it is something you can do with the database icon. If it is green, it is the test database, but if it is gray and white, the production database is displayed. For me, there has been no difference when I switch databases, it is always the production database that is displayed regardless of which icon is on. The AI has said that there is something wrong with the code in my app and the support as well. Today, after many fixes, credits and a lot of time, I got a message from the support-team that there is a bug in Base44 that does not allow you to switch databases in development mode I have to develope with my production database, which seems completely crazy.
I finally got this answer from support:
Unfortunately, you cannot reliably switch to the test database directly in the editor preview right now. You really have two options:
Use the test link (share--privek.base44.app) to test new functionality against the test database Continue as you did before – be careful and clean up the test data afterwards.
If this is a correct answer I got, I wonder when Base44 will start working on fixing that feature.
